A few years back, Yard Act delivered their second album, Where’s My Utopia? Today, the British post-punk group is back to unveil their next project, You’re Gonna Need A Little Music. The bold and rousing lead single, “Redeemer,” is now available.

Frontman James Smith delves into the concept behind the album, highlighting the exploration of multiple realities and the impact of individualism in the contemporary world. He questions the existence of a shared reality in a society where personal beliefs often override common truths. This album marks a significant shift for the band as it is the first collaborative project created in person rather than through virtual mediums. In contrast to their previous records, Where’s My Utopia? and The Overload, which were primarily crafted on laptops, You’re Gonna Need A Little Music was recorded in studios located in Leeds and Los Angeles with the renowned producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen (known for his work with Nine Inch Nails and Beck).

The tracklist for the upcoming album includes songs such as “Empty Pledges,” “Tall Tales,” “Fiction,” and the title track, “You’re Gonna Need A Little Music.”

Yard Act has also announced a series of tour dates, spanning across various cities in Europe and the United States. They are slated to perform at renowned music festivals like Primavera Sound in Barcelona and Porto, Rock Werchter in Belgium, and Best Kept Secret in the Netherlands. The band will also be making stops in major cities in the US, including San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York, before heading back to Europe for more shows.

The album, You’re Gonna Need A Little Music, is set to be released on July 17th via Republic. Fans can pre-order the album to ensure they are among the first to experience Yard Act’s latest sounds.

Joining forces with producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen has undoubtedly influenced Yard Act’s music, infusing new energy and creativity into their upcoming release. With the lead single “Redeemer” already captivating audiences, anticipation is high for the full album to drop and for fans to see the band perform live on their upcoming tour.

Stay updated on all things Yard Act and be sure to catch them live when they hit a city near you. Whether you’re a longtime fan or just discovering their music, You’re Gonna Need A Little Music promises to be a transformative and unforgettable listening experience.
