SYS MACHINE reveals mysterious components – a sorrowful journey through ambiguity
SYS MACHINE has recently launched its new album, Parts Unknown, a dark alternative/electronic artist’s third release. This album is the first to come out on the Glitchmode Recordings label, which is home to other prominent artists such as Cyanotic, Derision Cult, Conformco, and Rabbit Junk. Parts Unknown consists of a somber selection of songs that blend heavy electronic and trip-hop rhythms with clean guitar sounds and melodic vocals. Thematically, the album delves into the complexities of navigating a world filled with both spiritual and technological uncertainties, exploring topics like recovery, loss, and the challenging process of moving through different stages in life. Similar to SYS MACHINE’s previous release, Parts Unknown also features guest vocals from Kimberly Kornmeier of Bow Ever Down on two tracks, adding depth to the music reminiscent of artists like Garbage and Portishead. While still rooted in electronic sounds, the album pushes boundaries by introducing acoustic guitars and more prominent rhythmic elements to create a diverse sonic landscape. Drawing inspiration from renowned artists like Porcupine Tree, Peter Gabriel, Depeche Mode, Portishead, and Nine Inch Nails, Parts Unknown modernizes SYS MACHINE’s sound and showcases a newfound musical versatility. Fans of the band can look forward to a fresh approach while enjoying the blend of familiar electronic elements with new textures and influences in this latest release.
