Seattle tourist assaulted Hawaiian man after viral video of him throwing rock at endangered seal

A local resident from Hawaii has been regarded as a hero after physically confronting a Seattle tourist who was seen throwing a large rock at a cherished monk seal, known as Lani, along the shoreline in Lahaina. The incident, which was captured on social media and by the Hawaii Department of Natural Resources, sparked outrage among beachgoers.

Following the distressing act, the enraged local took matters into his own hands by approaching and attacking the tourist in a video that quickly went viral, attracting numerous positive reactions from viewers commending the vigilante’s actions. The assault caught the attention of state Sen. Brenton Awa, who presented a letter of acknowledgment to the unidentified individual during a state meeting.
