“Are we having this conversation?” Ryan Lott croons at the beginning of “Endlessly,” setting the tone for the latest offering from Son Lux. The electronic rock trio, comprised of Lott, Rafiq Bhatia, and Ian Chang, is gearing up to unveil Out Into, their newest full-length album following a series of pandemic-era releases with the Tomorrows albums in 2020 and 2021. In the meantime, they have found success scoring soundtracks for prominent films like the Oscar-winning Everything Everywhere All At Once in 2022 and the Marvel film Thunderbolts* in 2025, as well as releasing the EP Risk Of Make Believe.

“Endlessly” serves as an introduction to Out Into, showcasing Lott’s emotive vocals, uplifting lyrics (“Love what you love/ Feel what you feel,” etc.), and an overall reminiscent nod to the sound of Peter Gabriel. The track was originally created for the Bluecoats, a marching ensemble hailing from Canton, Ohio. Exploring themes of self-discovery and connection, Lott reflects on the complexities of losing oneself in various aspects of life, whether it be through relationships, work, children, or personal aspirations. He ponders on how one can navigate the journey of rediscovering oneself and finding authentic connections with others.

The tracklist for Out Into includes a range of titles that hint at the album’s exploration of human experience and emotion: “Want You To Love,” “Out Into Us,” “Endlessly,” “Even If It Hurts,” “You Could Be The One,” “Summer’s Gone,” “Apparition,” and “No God Like A King.” The album is set to be released on 9/18 under the labels This Is Meru and City Slang.

“Are we having this conversation?” Ryan Lott’s poignant question echoes throughout “Endlessly,” inviting listeners to delve into the introspective world crafted by Son Lux. As the trio prepares to unveil Out Into, their latest musical endeavor, fans can expect a thought-provoking and emotionally resonant exploration of the human experience through their distinctive blend of electronic and rock influences.

Stay tuned for the release of Out Into to embark on a sonic journey that promises to captivate and inspire.
