New Promo Video for Brave Anime Streamed
The official website for the television adaptation of Rocket Shokai and Nakashima723’s manga “Scum of the Brave” recently unveiled the fourth promotional video and the third main visual for the series. This new video highlights the climax of the battle between Shinigami Yashiro and Lord Storm Coffin.
Set in an alternate 21st century, the story revolves around wealthy mafia members who undergo ether-enhancement surgery to become “Demon Kings.” Bounty hunters known as “Braves” are tasked with taking them down. Yashiro, a man who values simple pleasures like pizza, beer, and card games, finds himself in a financially tempting situation when three young Braves offer him a sizable sum to be their private tutor. But as he delves deeper into this dangerous world, he begins to question if the money is worth the risks involved.
The anime features Ryōta Suzuki as Shinigami Yashiro, Akari Kitō as Aki Jogamine, Momo Harumi as Yukine Indō, Yumiri Hanamori as Sara Kashiwagi Pendragon, Hinata Tadokoro as Salt Joe, Daisuke Hirakawa as Ongakuya Ishinō, Yasuhiro Takato as Moguri no Maruta, Yūichirō Umehara as Lord “Wedge of Both Hands,” Katsuyuki Konishi as Arthur Pendragon, Tomokazu Sugita as Father Ayashima, Ayumu Murase as Lord Hazeru Seito, and more.
Shinji Ushiro directs the anime at OLM, with Yoichi Kato overseeing the series scripts, Rika Murakami designing the characters, and Kenichiro Suehiro composing the music. Additional staff members include Naoto Kondō as the Color Key Artist, Kazuhiro Inoue as the Art Director, Tsunetaka Ema as the Compositing Director of Photography, Naoki Watanabe handling Editing, and Takahiro Enomoto as the Sound Director.
The duo ClariS performs the new opening theme song “Revive,” while the rock band w.o.d. provides the ending theme song “Non-Fiction.” The anime premiered on NTV and its affiliated channels on January 10 and is also available on various streaming platforms such as D-Anime, Hulu, and AT-X channel. The series is airing for two quarters continuously without a break, and Crunchyroll is offering simulcast streaming.
The manga was first serialized in 2018 on LEED Publishing’s Comic Border service, with the eighth volume released in December. Rocket Shokai initially presented the story on the Kakuyomu website in 2016, and it has since been adapted into a novel format with illustrations by toi8. The second volume was published in February.
With the excitement surrounding the series and its unique storyline, “Scum of the Brave” continues to captivate audiences with its thrilling battles and intriguing characters.
