Avant-Pop Festival Sound Cream Comes to Life in Bremen in 2026

Culture Life e.V. will be hosting a spectacular event that will showcase eight groundbreaking experimental artists at the highly anticipated Sound Cream Festival 2026 on June 5 and 6. This two-day extravaganza will take place at the Schaulust venue in Bremen, promising to immerse attendees in the world of avant-pop experimentation.

With the support of Musikfonds e.V., this festival will bring together a diverse group of artists from Berlin’s underground music scene, each pushing the boundaries of traditional music norms. These artists will challenge the conventional approach to pop music by incorporating elements of distorted electronics, unconventional song structures, jazz improvisation, classical minimalism, folk influences, industrial textures, and sound art to create an innovative fusion of genres.

The festival will feature four unique performances each evening, with each artist given a 45-minute slot to captivate the audience. Attendees will have the opportunity to experience a wide range of musical styles and experimental techniques throughout the two-day event.

The festival kicks off with Teresa Riemann, a Berlin-based performer known for her captivating drum-work, fragmented vocals, and powerful improvisation. Her emotionally charged live sets often feature a mix of noise rock, spoken word, and spontaneous composition, showcasing her unconventional and liberating approach to experimental music.

Following Riemann is Golden Diskó Ship, the solo project of Theresa Stroetges, a multi-talented artist who seamlessly blends folk, techno, rock, club music, and electronic pop into atmospheric and beat-driven compositions. Her upcoming album, “Bird Sound,” set to release in 2026, promises to further showcase her hybrid electronic and acoustic sound.

The festival’s intensity rises with POB, a Shape+ award-winning duo that combines industrial, electronica, noise rock, and metal influences to create a unique and immersive sonic experience. Their performances feature brutal rhythmic assaults, distorted electronics, and guttural vocals, offering audiences a distinctly raw and atmospheric journey.

Closing the first evening is 13 Year Cicada, a trio that infuses jagged beats, expansive synths, and DIY experimentation into their music. Emerging from jazz backgrounds, the band aims to create egalitarian and collaborative creative practices within the realm of experimental pop, offering a more approachable and inclusive sound for listeners.

The second day of the festival features a broader exploration of experimental music, including sound art, multimedia performance, and genre-defying improvisation. Artists such as Katharina Ernst, Jasmine Guffond, Louis Cameron, Guido Möbius, and Painting will push the boundaries of traditional music even further, combining innovative techniques, visual elements, and political themes to create a truly immersive experience for attendees.
