Kicking off on November 4th, the first night will see the band performing God’s Own Medicine in its entirety, along with some b-sides and extra tracks. Claytown Troupe will be supporting the band on this date.
Moving on to November 5th, the performance will draw from a selection of albums including First Chapter, Children, Grains of Sand, Neverland, Aura, and The Brightest Light. SpaceAcre is set to open for The Mission on this night. On November 6th, the band will be drawing from God’s Own Medicine, Carved in Sand, Masque, Blue, God Is a Bullet, and Another Fall From Grace, with Mouth Ulcers as the supporting act. The final night on November 7th, titled “Kith & Kin: By Request,” will feature fan-selected songs from the band’s repertoire across social media platforms. Power of Dreams will take the stage as the supporting act on this special night.
This residency comes on the heels of the band’s successful headline sets at the Tomorrow’s Ghosts Festival in Whitby on October 30th and 31st, both of which sold out in a matter of hours.
God’s Own Medicine, released in November 1986, marked a pivotal moment in The Mission’s career, solidifying their position within the UK’s alternative and gothic music scene. The album, featuring the distinctive twin guitars of Hussey and Simon Hinkler, along with Craig Adams’ basslines and Mick Brown’s drumming, produced hit singles like “Wasteland” and “Severina,” as well as fan favorites such as “Garden of Delight,” “Stay With Me,” and “Love Me to Death.” Following their departure from The Sisters of Mercy, The Mission went on to achieve global success, selling millions of albums and headlining major music festivals worldwide, with notable releases including Children, Carved in Sand, and Masque.
Exciting news for fans of The Mission comes in the form of a confirmed release of new music in 2027, further solidifying the band’s enduring legacy and commitment to creating impactful music for their dedicated audience.
