Weezer has officially confirmed the release of their latest self-titled album, Weezer. The album is set to debut on August 21, 2026, via Reprise/Warner Records. Ahead of the album launch, they have dropped a new single titled “We Might As Well Be Strangers” featuring Wednesday vocalist Karly Hartzman.

The band, known for their Blue, Green, Red, White, Teal, and Black albums, has added another color to their repertoire with Weezer, marking their 20th album in their illustrious career. Following a sold-out 30th-anniversary tour where they performed their debut album in full, Weezer regrouped in Orange County to get back to their roots. The album was born out of collaborative jam sessions among the band members, resulting in a tight and cohesive record.

Weezer brings together the songwriting talents of three out of four band members, with frontman Rivers Cuomo and drummer Pat Wilson collaborating on song basics for the first time since their debut album. The band chose two distinct yet complementary producers, Klas Ahlund and Kenneth Blume, to work on the album. Kenny Beats aimed to create the “most violent Weezer album ever,” while Klas brought a more mathematical and stringent approach. The album captures a raw and urgent essence, showcasing the band’s enduring strengths.

Weezer features a mix of tongue-in-cheek meta songs reflecting on the band’s journey, alongside tracks celebrating their present status as influential artists in the music industry. Fans can presave the album now and even order an exclusive signed vinyl through the band’s webstore.

Earlier this year, Weezer announced their Weezer: The Gathering Tour, a massive 32-date tour across North America. The Shins and Silversun Pickups will join them as support acts. To celebrate the tour announcement, the band organized a series of events in Los Angeles, including Weezerpedia trivia and a pickleball tournament with fans.

The album tracklist for Weezer includes “Say Yes,” “Shine Again,” “Don’t Make It Weird,” “C.E.O.,” “Hoops,” “Nowhere,” “The Show Must Go On,” “Up In The Clouds,” and “The LA Sound.” Fans can pre-order and pre-save the album now. Weezer fans can expect a unique and engaging musical experience with the release of Weezer, as the band continues to push boundaries and evolve their sound.
