GRAMMY® Award-winning artist Warren Haynes has recently released a live version of “Shakedown Street,” a symphonic rendition of the iconic Grateful Dead song, giving fans a taste of what to expect from his upcoming album, Dreams & Songs. This release follows the live version of another hit, “Banks of the Deep End,” that was unveiled last month. The official release date and pre-order details for Dreams & Songs will be announced soon.

Dreams & Songs, recorded in 2019 at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium in Haynes’ hometown of Asheville, North Carolina, showcases a unique symphonic show where Haynes collaborated with the Asheville Symphony Orchestra and a talented lineup of rock musicians including Oteil Burbridge, John Medeski, Jeff Sipe, Greg Osby, Edwin McCain, and Jasmine Muhammad. The album features a diverse track listing of 16 songs from various phases of Haynes’ illustrious career, encompassing music from Gov’t Mule, Allman Brothers Band, The Dead, and his solo projects.

Reflecting on the symphonic arrangement of “Shakedown Street,” Haynes described it as a powerful interpretation that amplifies the essence of the original song. Having performed it numerous times over the years with Phil Lesh and Friends and The Dead, Haynes emphasized the orchestra’s ability to bring out new dimensions of the track, pushing listeners to engage with it in a fresh perspective. The dark and intense quality of the orchestrated version adds depth and impact to the song, making it a standout piece in the album.

As part of his Dreams & Songs Symphonic Experience, Haynes will be performing in Nashville next year at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center alongside the Nashville Symphony. Joining him onstage will be musicians John Medeski, Kevin Scott, Terence Higgins, Greg Osby, and vocalists Saundra Williams and Mayteana Morales, under the direction of conductor Rich Daniels from the Chicago City Lights Orchestra. This two-night event, scheduled for March 11 and March 12, 2027, promises to be an unforgettable musical experience for Haynes’ fans.

In the meantime, Haynes will be hitting the road with Gov’t Mule for their Kicking In Your Stall Tour and a co-headlining trek with Joe Bonamassa, spanning various locations across the U.S. from July to August. Following that, Gov’t Mule will embark on the Dreaming The Same Dream Tour with Ziggy Marley in the fall, featuring YOLA as a guest DJ for select dates. Tickets for these shows are now available for pre-sale on Haynes’ website.

Additionally, Haynes is set to perform a special set at the upcoming Hudson River Music Festival in New York on June 21, where he will share the stage with Grahame Lesh and Daniel Donato. With an exciting lineup of performances and collaborations on the horizon, Warren Haynes continues to captivate audiences with his musical prowess and artistic vision.
