SiM reveals new song “Freeze Me Up”

Japanese rock band SiM has recently unveiled their newest song, “FREEZE ME UP,” which serves as the opening theme for the upcoming TV anime BLACK TORCH. This track comes on the heels of their global success with “The Rumbling,” which served as the opening theme for season four of Attack On Titan. “FREEZE ME UP” will also be featured on SiM’s seventh full-length album, HOOMAN AFTER ALL, set for release on 2nd September.

In a statement about the new song and BLACK TORCH, vocalist MAH expressed his excitement and creativity regarding this new project. He described manga as a vast universe and shared that “this song is my attempt to express, through sound and words, the BLACK TORCH galaxy that expanded inside my own mind” – remarking on the unique opportunity to shape the sound for the anime adaptation.

Following this announcement, the band also revealed their HOOMAN AFTER ALL World Tour to showcase their latest music to fans worldwide. The tour will include a stop in the UK in January 2027, promising an electrifying experience for their audience.

BLACK TORCH weaves a compelling narrative, following the journey of Jiro Azuma, a high schooler from a ninja lineage who possesses exceptional communication abilities with animals. The story takes an unexpected turn when Jiro encounters an injured black cat named Rago, who is more than meets the eye. Rago is a significant figure in mononoke legend, harboring immense powers that attract dark spirits seeking to exploit them. As the Bureau of Espionage gears up to combat these malevolent forces, Jiro and Rago are prepared for the impending clash between ninja boy and mononoke.

SiM’s upcoming album, HOOMAN AFTER ALL, represents a significant milestone for the band, marking their return to the music scene after a three-year hiatus.
