Audrey Horne Set to Release New Album “Achilles”
Norwegian hard rock band AUDREY HORNE is gearing up to release their eighth studio album, Achilles, via Napalm Records on September 4. The band has already dropped the first single, “Insanity,” along with an accompanying music video. Known for their previous albums Blackout and Devil’s Bell, AUDREY HORNE has garnered critical acclaim internationally. Notably, they won a Spellemannprisen (Norwegian equivalent of a Grammy) for their debut album in 2005.
Having shared stages with heavyweights like AC/DC and Mötley Crüe, as well as touring with bands such as Papa Roach and Backyard Babies, AUDREY HORNE stands as one of Norway’s premier rock exports. The band comprises vocalist Toschie, guitarists Ice Dale and Thomas Tofthagen, bassist Espen Lien, and drummer Kjetil Greve. Together, they bring a diverse range of musical influences to the table, reflected in their upcoming album Achilles.
The title track, “Achilles,” sets the tone for the album with its powerful guitars, solid rhythm section, and captivating vocals that delve into today’s polarized world. The band showcases a more progressive side with tracks like “God Damn Beautiful,” featuring Espen Lien on lead vocals, reminiscent of Thin Lizzy’s groovy style. Closing the album is “New Star Falling,” a melodic track that showcases a different side of AUDREY HORNE’s sound.
With Achilles, AUDREY HORNE delves into themes ranging from escapism to social commentary on the current state of the world. Drawing inspiration from classic ’70s and ’80s rock influences, the band presents an atmospheric heavy rock album that promises to resonate with audiences on both rock radio and live stages.
The album boasts 11 dynamic tracks, including high-energy rock numbers and more melodic, progressive offerings. From the energy of “Insanity” to the introspective “Six Feet In The Ground,” Achilles showcases AUDREY HORNE’s songwriting prowess and musical versatility. The band’s ability to blend classic influences with modern themes makes Achilles a must-listen for rock enthusiasts.
