New video previews ending theme for Yoroi-Shinden Samurai Troopers anime’s second part

The Yoroi-Shinden Samurai Troopers anime series is set to release its second part on July 7, as announced by the show’s staff. A new promotional video for the upcoming quarter of the year was shared recently, featuring a preview of the series’ ending theme song.

The anime’s second cours will introduce new music to the show, with Dannie May performing the opening theme song titled “Bad Idenshi” (Bad Gene), and karanoah performing the ending theme song named “Bakemon.” Additionally, new cast members will join the production, including Tomoaki Maeno as Gomei, Aya Endo as Shimei, Hiroshi Shirokuma as Gaimei, Maaya Sakamoto as Yashimanosagume, and Takehito Koyasu as Inmei.

The Yoroi-Shinden Samurai Troopers anime first premiered earlier this year on January 6 on the Tokyo MX channel before being made available for streaming on platforms such as U-NEXT, Anime Hōdai, and d Anime Store. The anime also had broadcasts on Kansai TV and BS11, with Crunchyroll handling the streaming for international viewers.

Under the direction of Yōichi Fujita, known for his work on popular series like Gintama and Mr. Osomatsu, the new anime adaptation is produced by Sunrise. Shōgo Mutō, who has previously worked on projects like Crows Zero, supervises and pens the series’ scripts. The original story is credited to Hajime Yatate, the collective pseudonym for the creative team at Sunrise.

The character design team comprises of Yūhei Murota handling the main characters, Tsukasa Kotobuki designing the villains, Hideo Okamoto creating the original Yoroi Gear designs, and Takuya Suzuki crafting the Yoroi Gear designs for animation. Meanwhile, Shūji Katayama is in charge of composing the music for the series.

Additional staff members on the project include Chief Animation Directors Junko Yamanaka and Tomoko Tanaka, Main Animator Hiroyuki Nishimura, Screen Design Director Akira Saitoh, Art Director Osamu Tayama, Color Key Artist Miho Tanaka, and others overseeing various aspects of the production.

Set in modern-day Shinjuku, the narrative of the new anime follows the story of five boys as they don Yoroi Gear samurai armor to combat the demon emperor, Arago. This latest adaptation of the Samurai Troopers franchise by Sunrise builds upon the success of the original Yoroiden Samurai Troopers series from the late 1980s.

Overall, the Yoroi-Shinden Samurai Troopers anime promises an exciting continuation of the beloved franchise, with new characters, themes, and music that will captivate both longtime fans and newcomers alike.
