Brandon Flowers has made a triumphant return to the music scene with his latest album, THRASHER, marking his first solo release in over a decade. The album, set to be released on August 21st, 2026, via Island Records, features the lead single “Plans,” which is already available to fans. Flowers, known for his work as the frontman of The Killers, ventured into Americana and country music traditions in THRASHER, drawing inspiration from his upbringing in a small town in Utah.

Recording the album in Nashville, at RCA Studio A, Flowers collaborated with acclaimed producers Shawn Everett and Jonathan Rado, along with a roster of talented Nashville musicians. The album features a diverse range of instruments, including guitars, pedal steel, and harmonica, creating a rich and authentic sound that pays homage to classic American music. Flowers delves deep into his roots, exploring themes of family, identity, and the landscapes that shaped him.

Inspired by his father’s love for country and western music, Flowers incorporated these influences into his songwriting, creating a personal and introspective album. Speaking about the direction of THRASHER, Flowers shared, “As I’ve gotten older, I’ve found my way back to my father’s music – ‘Country-Western’ – and discovered that the stories I carry really feel most at home in the skin of this beautiful American tradition.” The album is a departure from the anthemic sound of The Killers, focusing on intimate storytelling and emotional depth.

Lead single “Plans” sets the tone for the album, with its introspective lyrics and understated instrumentation. The track explores themes of ambition, missed opportunities, and resilience, offering a glimpse into Flowers’ new sonic landscape. THRASHER features a mix of honky-tonk rockers, heartfelt ballads, and expansive Americana, capturing a range of emotions and experiences. The album culminates in the ambitious closing track, “An American Dream,” a contemplative meditation on memory and mortality.

In addition to the album release, Flowers has announced an extensive headline tour across North America, the UK, and Ireland, starting this autumn. Fans can expect an intimate and captivating live experience, as Flowers showcases his new material in theatres before heading out on a broader tour. Tickets for the UK and Ireland dates will be available for purchase starting July 3rd, with pre-sale access for fans who pre-order THRASHER.

Brandon Flowers’ return with THRASHER marks a significant milestone in his solo career, offering a fresh perspective on Americana and country music traditions. With evocative storytelling and melodic sensibilities, Flowers’ latest album is a testament to his growth as an artist and his commitment to exploring new musical horizons.
