Kenny Blume collaborates with Weezer, Nate Smith, and others on new music and videos
Here at Tape Op HQ, we are diligently working on our upcoming July issue that will feature an exclusive interview with the highly sought-after producer Kenny Blume. While the release of this issue is a few weeks away, we wanted to share some exciting new tracks that Kenny has recently been involved with.
One of these projects is called Fathers, a fresh collective that includes talented musicians such as Kiefer on keyboards, CARRTOONS on bass, and Nate Smith on drums. The genesis of this collaboration dates back to when Kenny was completing the wiring of his Putnam Hill studio. He invited his friends over to help test the equipment and acoustics of the room. The result was a successful recording session that is set to be released on July 10th under the Blue Note label.
Another project that Kenny has been engrossed in is the creation of a new LP with the iconic band Weezer. A track from this upcoming LP has already been released, and a new music video featuring Wednesday’s Karly Hartzman on vocals is now available for fans to enjoy.
If you are eager to read more about Kenny’s journey and insights, make sure your Tape Op subscription is up-to-date by July 1st to receive the upcoming issue showcasing his interview.
In addition to the projects involving Kenny Blume, we are also excited to share some new releases from other noteworthy artists. British psychedelic rock band Temples, who we previously featured in issue #107, recently dropped a new album titled “Bliss”. Their 2014 release “Sun Structures” was a fan favorite, with its groovy tunes sure to keep listeners entertained.
Furthermore, Sadie Dupuis, whom we interviewed in Tape Op #142, has been making waves with her latest release. An interview with her can also be found in the Discussions Podcast episode #12.
In other music-related news, Tape Op is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of a new book titled “Making Music: Conversations With…” available for pre-order, along with a stylish new T-shirt.
Lastly, don’t miss out on the opportunity to bid on some exclusive collectibles at the Jimmy Douglass Auction hosted by Wax Poetics. This unique event is a must-see for music enthusiasts looking to add some special memorabilia to their collection.
With such a diverse range of new music and projects on the horizon, it’s an exciting time for music lovers everywhere. Stay tuned for more updates and releases in the world of music as we continue to explore and celebrate the artistry and talent of artists across various genres.
