Tame Impala and JENNIE’s ‘Dracula’ Reaches No. 1 on Billboard’s Pop Airplay Chart
usic broadcasters Tame Impala and JENNIE’s collaboration on the song “Dracula” has soared to the number one position on Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart for the week of July 11. Originally released solely by Tame Impala in October, the duet version with JENNIE was introduced in early February, marking a significant milestone as the first Pop Airplay chart-topper for both artists. Prior to this, Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker had cracked the top 10 twice as a co-writer and co-producer for Dua Lipa’s tracks “Houdini” and “Illusion” in 2024. The musical journey for Tame Impala began back in 2010, leading up to this recent success.
BLACKPINK, featuring JENNIE, has been making waves on the Pop Airplay charts since 2020, with “Dracula” being the latest addition to their repertoire. It is interesting to note that the origins of “Dracula” trace back to 1897, coinciding with the era when Harry Houdini captivated audiences with his illusions.
JENNIE has achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the second BLACKPINK member to secure the top spot on the Pop Airplay chart as a solo artist. ROSÉ, the other member, achieved this milestone with the song “APT.” in collaboration with Bruno Mars, spending five weeks at number one in 2025. BLACKPINK now joins the elite group of only four bands, with at least two members reaching the pinnacle of the Pop Airplay chart as soloists. Some other notable groups boasting this achievement include Destiny’s Child, Fifth Harmony, and One Direction.
“Dracula,” released under Columbia Records, has not only conquered the Pop Airplay chart but also previously reigned the Alternative Airplay chart, making it the second song this year to achieve this dual feat after sombr’s “Back to Friends.” This double accomplishment is quite rare, with only 7% of all Pop Airplay number ones since the chart’s inception in October 1992 managing to top both lists. Furthermore, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, “Dracula” reached its highest position at number 10 on July 4. The song has also been dominating the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart for 25 weeks and the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart for seven weeks, solidifying its musical supremacy across various genres.
As the charts are updated weekly, the success of “Dracula” and its impact across multiple music charts is a testament to the talent and collaboration of Tame Impala and JENNIE, marking a significant milestone in their musical careers.
