Heather Anne Lomax Releases New Single “Step Aside”

After the release of her previous record, Lomax incorporated songs by the L.A. rock band Broken Homes into her live set, which led to a creative spark. This moment ignited the creation of a collaborative album centered around intuition, camaraderie, and musicians coming together.
Recorded at Love Street Studios in Los Angeles, the upcoming album captures the essence of live performance, emphasizing emotion, energy, and authentic performances over technical perfection. Produced by Zachary Ross (Rose’s Pawn Shop), mixed by Jason Hiller (The Freewheelers), and mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Faith No More, YES, Halford, Def Leppard), the album showcases a fusion of Blues, Rock, and Soul with a touch of classic storytelling at its core.
The recording sessions brought together a talented group of musicians, including bassist Jason Hiller (The Freewheelers); drummers Rob Humphries (Kacey Musgraves, Leonard Cohen, Jason Mraz), Jordan West (Grace Potter), David Goodstein (Jackson Browne, Dolly Parton), and Jamie Douglas (Shooter Jennings, Samantha Fish); keyboardists Ty Bailie (Katy Perry, Tanya Tucker), Jerry Borge (Ziggy Marley), and Carey Frank (Bruce Springsteen, Tedeschi Trucks Band); guitarists Zachary Ross and Heather Anne Lomax; Fuzzbee Morse (Bono, Peter Gabriel) on flute; and additional vocals from Lily Elise (Gwen Stefani, Miley Cyrus) and Mary Scholz.
Embracing the spirit of classic Rock & Roll, the album features original compositions with a special nod to a cover by Heather’s late friend Michael Doman of Broken Homes. Hailing from Kansas City and now residing in Las Vegas, Heather Anne Lomax has carved her own musical path spanning Americana, Country-Rock, Blues, and Rock & Roll. Her career has seen her receive international radio play and share the stage with icons like Wynonna Judd & The Big Noise, Lee Ann Womack, and many more.
Central to Lomax’s music is authenticity and connection. She views her songs as vessels of emotional release, allowing listeners to experience, heal, and connect through music. Her personal life story heavily influences her artistry, having been adopted at birth and later tracing her roots to a lineage steeped in music and artistry. Her journey from Kansas City to the Ozarks of Missouri nurtured her guitar skills and songwriting abilities, drawing inspiration from artists like Linda Ronstadt, Elvis Presley, and Maria McKee.
