Con The Artist has made a splash on the Billboard Canada Airplay charts with his track “Where’s Your Girlfriend.” The South Africa-born, Toronto-based singer and producer has landed at No. 39 on the Modern Rock chart, offering a raw and anthemic take on heartbreak. The song delves into the ambiguous emotions that follow a breakup, focusing on the relentless question that lingers after a relationship ends. Despite its lively sound, there is a sense of unease that permeates the track, capturing the essence of post-breakup turmoil.

“This is the start of my breakup songs era. I couldn’t show up anywhere without people asking where she was – sometimes before they even asked how I was doing,” Con The Artist revealed in a statement. “It got to the point where I didn’t feel like I had my own identity.”

The catchy nature of “Where’s Your Girlfriend” has already struck a chord with listeners, landing on the Contemporary Hit Radio/Top 40 chart at No. 31. As it continues to gain traction, the song has climbed to No. 27 in its fifth week on the chart. Meanwhile, on the Modern Rock chart, Death Cab for Cutie has claimed the top spot with “Riptides,” pushing Noah Kahan’s “The Great Divide” down to No. 2. The track marks the return of the 2000s-era indie rock band to radio airwaves.

In addition to Con The Artist’s success, country singer Dallas Smith has also made waves with his new solo release, “Good Time Goes.” After a three-year hiatus, Smith’s upbeat track has entered the Canada Country chart at No. 50. The song reflects the artist’s desire to live in the present moment while acknowledging the passage of time, serving as a fitting introduction to his next musical chapter.

Smith expressed his motivation behind “Good Time Goes,” stating, “I wanted the first song out of the gate to have some energy and feel-good momentum behind it.” Following an extensive Canadian tour in 2025, the track signifies a new phase in Smith’s career, highlighting his growth as an artist.

Elsewhere on the charts, Cameron Whitcomb’s “Kingdom of Fear” has made a notable impact, entering the All-Format chart at No. 49. The country-pop track has gained traction across various genres, climbing the CHR/Top 40, Country, Mainstream Rock, and Modern Rock charts. Additionally, Francophone country-rap artist Arpin LePine and Valley have also made their mark on the Hot AC and Mainstream charts with their respective tracks.

As the charts continue to evolve, Taylor Swift’s “I Knew It, I Knew You” has claimed the top spot on the All-Format chart, surpassing Bruno Mars’ “I Just Might.” Luke Combs’ “Be By You” has risen to No. 2 on the Country chart, while Nickelback’s “Bones For The Crows” maintains its stronghold on the Mainstream Rock chart.

With ongoing shifts in the music landscape, artists like Con The Artist, Dallas Smith, and Cameron Whitcomb are making their mark with standout tracks that resonate with audiences across different genres. As they continue to climb the charts, their music serves as a reflection of their artistry and talent in the ever-evolving music industry.
