Mold!, a band founded in 2019 by Carlo Barbacci, has been rapidly gaining popularity in Miami’s music scene. Over the years, Barbacci has transformed Mold! from a collaborative effort into a more personal project, working with a rotating cast of talented musicians to create their unique sound.

The band is gearing up to celebrate the release of their third album, titled III, at Gramps on August 30th as part of their Summer Moldy Tour. Joining them on stage will be local favorites like Palomino Blond, Dime, and Ben Katzman, who will be making a special homecoming appearance after relocating to the West Coast. III promises to be a wild ride through a psychedelic tornado, featuring high-energy drums, distorted riffs, and lyrics in both English and Spanish, inspired by bands like Spacemen 3.

The album artwork for III, created by Barbacci’s friend Ian Duclos, perfectly encapsulates the chaotic energy of Mold!’s music. Mixed by Ryan Haft and released through Community Records, III represents a significant milestone for the band. For Barbacci, Mold! has become a way to channel Miami’s frenetic energy and his own internal struggles into something creative and cathartic.

Despite facing challenges and setbacks along the way, Barbacci remains committed to pushing Mold! to new heights. He acknowledges that the music industry can be just as fickle and unpredictable as relationships, requiring dedication and perseverance to succeed. Mold! has seen various lineup changes over the years, with musicians like Peter Allen, Francisco Lujan, and Joshua Soria contributing to the band’s evolving sound.

Barbacci’s relentless drive and passion for Mold! have been instrumental in keeping the band afloat through thick and thin. Whether it’s through relentless touring, performing at top venues in Miami, or snagging coveted spots at major music festivals, Barbacci’s unwavering commitment to Mold! is unwavering.

As Mold! continues to blaze a trail through Miami’s music scene, Barbacci remains focused on the future, eager to explore new musical territories and reach new audiences. With his steadfast belief in the power of music to connect people and transcend boundaries, Barbacci is poised to lead Mold! to even greater success in the years to come.
