Heathen prepares for new album by revisiting older tracks for recording, including…
Heathen, the Bay Area Thrash Metal group, has recently signed with Napalm Records, marking an exciting new chapter for the band. Along with this partnership, the band has announced the upcoming release of a new album. Additionally, the band has recorded two obscure tracks from their past for a maxi-single release, including exclusive vinyl formats.
The first track, titled “Never A God,” was originally a part of Laughing Dead’s first demo, a band led by Heathen vocalist David White in the early 90s. This single will be available in various forms, offering fans a fresh glimpse into the band’s musical journey.
Regarding their collaboration with Napalm Records, Heathen expressed their enthusiasm for this new venture. They are looking forward to working with a team that shares their passion for metal music. The band’s members are eager to see what the future holds and are committed to completing their new album with vigor and excitement.
In addition to their signing announcement, Heathen shared their thoughts on “Never a God,” emphasizing their desire to kick off their partnership with Napalm Records on a high note. The band decided to record classic Bay Area Thrash tracks from the 1990s, originally performed by other bands they played with. These songs, though familiar to demo collectors, will offer a fresh listening experience to most fans. The catchy rhythmic intensity of “Never A God” embodies the spirit of Heathen’s music and sets the stage for what is to come.
Heathen’s illustrious career dates back to 1984 when they emerged from the vibrant San Francisco metal scene. They quickly established themselves as leaders in the Bay Area Thrash Metal movement, releasing notable albums such as “Breaking The Silence” (1987) and “Victims Of Deception” (1991). After a brief hiatus, the band resurfaced in 2001, proving their enduring passion for creating powerful music.
The tracklist for “Never A God” includes two songs: “Never A God” and “Twist of Faith.” To celebrate their new music and signing, Heathen will be embarking on a tour in 2026, supporting Coroner on their “Dissonance Over The West” Tour. The tour will take them to various cities across North America, offering fans the chance to experience their electrifying live performances.
In addition to their tour, Heathen is set to perform at several festivals, including the Legions Of Metal in Chicago, the Rock Castle Open Air Festival in Moravský Krumlov, and the Neuborn Open Air Festival in Wörrstadt. These upcoming events showcase the band’s commitment to connecting with fans and delivering a memorable musical experience that spans generations.
