T’Pau to release new album “Be Wonderful”
British band T’Pau is making a return with their upcoming album, “Be Wonderful,” marking their first LP of original material since 2015’s “Pleasure And Pain.” Following a split in 1991, T’Pau’s founders, Carol Decker and Ronnie Rogers, reunited in 2013 to continue their musical journey. The band has been gracing major festivals like the Isle Of Wight Festival, Rewind, Let’s Rock, W-Fest, Here, and Now, Step Back, Ibiza Hardrock, and Night of The Proms with their energetic performances.
Reflecting on the long hiatus between studio albums, Carol Decker shared insights into why there was a delay in new material. Owing to personal responsibilities and the thriving 80s live music circuit in the early 2000s, Decker found herself engrossed in live performances globally. Despite sporadic song ideas recorded on her iPhone and Ronnie’s continuous creative process, Decker couldn’t devote time to writing until her children reached their 20s, granting her the necessary headspace to focus on creating new music.
The album “Be Wonderful” was meticulously crafted at Rogers’ studio in Monmouth, Wales. Decker emphasized how the duo had to take charge of every aspect of recording and production, mirroring the resourceful spirit of their early days in the music scene when they had limited resources. The album cover features a nostalgic image of a young Decker, capturing a moment from her childhood that evokes curiosity about her contemplations at that time.
Expressing a mix of anticipation and nervousness, Decker acknowledged the challenges of reintroducing new music to the ever-evolving music industry after a prolonged absence from the spotlight. Despite regularly performing their classic hits, the prospect of unveiling new music brings a blend of nerves, hope, and excitement to the forefront.
With a tracklist featuring captivating titles like “Read My Lips,” “Miles & Miles,” “Showdown,” “Stupid Love Song,” and others, “Be Wonderful” promises an exciting musical journey for T’Pau fans. Ahead of the album’s release on 10th April 2026, the lead single “Read My Lips” is set to drop on 20th March. Fans can also catch T’Pau live on their extensive UK headline tour throughout April, with performances scheduled in cities like Leeds, London, Glasgow, and Liverpool.
In conclusion, T’Pau’s comeback with “Be Wonderful” signifies a new chapter in their musical legacy, blending nostalgia with fresh creativity. As they gear up to unveil their latest work, the band remains poised to captivate audiences with their signature sound and vibrant energy on stage.
