Stand Atlantic reveals fifth album “GODBREATH” and releases new single “LUCID”
When Bonnie Fraser, the vocalist and songwriter of Stand Atlantic, found herself struggling in the writing process, she decided to take a step back and let things flow naturally. The result was the creation of the track “LUCID,” which she described as a challenging song to develop. “This was a hard track to figure out,” she explained. “‘LUCID’ was one of the last songs we wrote for this record and I was kind of done. I felt like I was running out of things to say that wouldn’t feel super contrived. So I went plain and simple, I thought ‘I’m not going to overthink this, let’s go with what self-sabotage feels like,’ and explored that lyrically.”
“LUCID” follows the band’s earlier release, “Velcro,” which they consider to be their first love song. These singles mark a shift towards a more melodic sound, setting the tone for their upcoming performances at the Slam Dunk Festival alongside Good Charlotte, Knocked Loose, and Sublime in the UK and Europe. Stand Atlantic’s approach to their latest full-length project involved recording live in the studio, drawing inspiration from the vibrant pop rock of the early 2000s and the energetic modern pop-punk scene. The band aimed to create a body of work that pushes boundaries while staying true to the instincts that have garnered them a loyal following.
Since their formation in Sydney in 2012, Stand Atlantic has established themselves as one of Australia’s most active alternative music groups. With the release of four studio albums – “Skinny Dipping” (2018), “Pink Elephant” (2020), “f.e.a.r.” (2022), and “WAS HERE” (2024) – the band has made a significant impact on the music scene. Their single “deathwish” achieved ARIA Platinum status, and their cover of Juice WRLD’s “Righteous” on triple j Like A Version stands out as one of the station’s memorable performances.
On the live front, Stand Atlantic has sold out headline tours across Australia, the UK, Europe, and North America. They have shared stages with well-known bands such as Sum 41, A Day To Remember, I Prevail, and ONE OK ROCK. Looking ahead, the band is preparing for a UK arena tour supporting Simple Plan, with dates scheduled at Manchester’s O2 Apollo on October 2nd and London’s OVO Arena Wembley on October 3rd. They are also set to perform at Vans Warped Tour in the United States this autumn.
