Tedeschi Trucks Band to Release ‘The Garden Party’ Film
Tedeschi Trucks Band has revealed that they will be releasing a captivating feature film titled “The Garden Party.” The film, directed by the talented John McDermott and co-produced by George Scott, documents the band’s magical debut performance at Madison Square Garden on September 29, 2023. This unforgettable evening, which saw special appearances by Trey Anastasio, Norah Jones, and Lukas Nelson, was praised as a “musical journey” full of moments of pure musical brilliance.
Derek Trucks, one half of the talented duo leading the band, expressed his amazement at the band’s journey from humble beginnings to the iconic Madison Square Garden stage. McDermott also shared his excitement for the film, aiming to showcase the band’s exceptional talent to audiences worldwide through this project.
The much-anticipated premiere of “The Garden Party” will take place at a special screening event at Brooklyn Bowl on March 22, coinciding with the release of Tedeschi Trucks Band’s latest studio album, “Future Soul,” which is set to drop on March 20th. Fans attending the family-friendly event can expect a wonderful time, complete with full concert sound for the screening. Tickets are priced at $10 for adults and free for children under 16, with all ticket proceeds going towards the charitable organization, HeadCount.
Following this New York event, the film will be released theatrically in the spring, with an additional screening scheduled near Susan Tedeschi’s hometown of Boston on May 1 at the Regent Theater in Arlington, MA.
