Next week, Feeble Little Horse will kick off their tour in support of their latest album, bitknot. If you plan on attending their show, make sure to arrive early to catch the opening act, Computerwife, the solo alt-rock project of Addie Warncke, a musician hailing from Atlanta but based in New York. Today, Warncke is releasing her new song “Nobody.”

Warncke’s journey into the music world began as a teenager when she heard Grimes discussing “Kill V. Maim” on the Song Exploder podcast in 2018. This inspired her to download Ableton and start creating her own music. She later enrolled in NYU’s Clive Davis Institute Of Recorded Music, where she began sharing her Computerwife tracks on SoundCloud during her first year. This eventually led to the release of a self-titled EP in 2020 and a self-titled album in 2023.

On “Nobody,” Warncke delivers a fuzzy, riff-driven alt-rock track that both deconstructs and reconstructs ’90s alt-rock sounds, showcasing influences from different eras. In her own words, the song is about the experience of being in love in Las Vegas, capturing moments with her boyfriend in hotels, driving through the desert, and spending sleepless nights on the sidewalk, engaging in idle activities. She reflects on the significance of sharing experiences with someone else, despite the imperfections present in any relationship.

To accompany the release of “Nobody,” Warncke co-directed a lo-fi music video with Kenneth Neighbors. The video complements the song’s nostalgic yet contemporary vibe, offering a visual interpretation of its themes.
