Oswald Slain, a rock group hailing from Bristol, UK, has just announced the upcoming release of their debut album, “Bucky.” Scheduled for release on October 24th, 2025, the album will be available on limited edition vinyl. Building up anticipation for the album, the band has unveiled the title track, “Bucky”, which is already out for listeners to enjoy. Previously known as Little Thief, Oswald Slain see this album as the beginning of a new chapter in their musical journey.

Crafted in their home studio, the new album is a reflection of the band’s period of introspection and growth. Channeling their experiences of navigating the chaos of youth and the challenges of aging, Oswald Slain draws inspiration from retro rock records to create their new songs.

Recorded and produced in-house by Ryan Rogers (Mumble Tide) and the band members themselves in their DIY self-built home studio, the album was mixed by John Logan and mastered by Jason Mitchell at Loud Mastering, known for their work with artists like PJ Harvey, XTC, and Big Special.

Lead vocalist Charlie Fitzgerald reflects on the process of creating the album, describing it as a pivotal moment in the band’s journey. With uncertainty looming over their direction, the days spent recording the songs in their studio brought clarity and a sense of creative excitement. “Bucky” consists of eight tracks that capture moments of surrender, growth, and hope amidst the backdrop of a chaotic and cluttered lifestyle. The band embraced a raw and authentic approach to recording, opting for live takes with minimal post-production. Working closely with Ryan Rogers, who played a key role in production, Oswald Slain found a balance between honesty, vulnerability, and fun in the music they were creating.

Looking ahead, Oswald Slain has announced a live date at Jam Jar in Bristol on November 6th, 2025, where they will be celebrating the launch of their album. With a blend of heartfelt lyrics, nostalgic melodies, and a DIY spirit, Oswald Slain’s “Bucky” promises to be a remarkable debut album that captures the essence of the band’s journey so far.
