Five music artists have recently made a triumphant return after being on hiatus for decades. These bands have thrilled fans with the release of new music and some have even announced upcoming tour dates. It’s a special moment for fans who have been eagerly waiting for these artists to make a comeback.

Thee Headcoatees, an all-female garage-rock band from the UK, surprised fans with the release of their first LP since 1999, titled “Man-Trap.” The band, consisting of Ludella Black, Kyra LaRubia, Bongo Debbie, and Holly Golightly, have returned after 26 years with a mix of classic covers and new originals.

Be Your Own Pet, a band that emerged in 2003 and disbanded after facing burnout and industry pressures, reunited after a 14-year hiatus. Thanks to Jack White, who invited them to join him on tour, the band signed with Third Man Records and released their comeback album “Mommy” in August 2023. They recently released a new single titled “What a B****” and are currently working on new material.

Alt-rock trio Sugar, formed by former Hüsker Dü member Bob Mould in 1992, returned after a 30-year break with a new single called “House of Dead Memories.” The band, also featuring David Barbe and Malcolm Travis, has announced new tour dates in 2026, hinting at the possibility of a new album. Fans can catch them in New York City and London.

In June, iconic alt-rock band Pulp made a comeback after 24 years with the album “More.” Despite the passing of bassist Steve Mackey in 2023, the core members of the band reunited, earning their first U.K. No. 1 album since 1998. The album and extensive tour have received high praise from both fans and critics, with many feeling like the past 24 years had simply disappeared.

Peaches, known for her arthouse electro-punk style, is releasing her first album in 10 years titled “No Lube So Rude.” She has spent the hiatus exploring art, sculpture, and performance, but is now returning to music with a modern twist. Peaches will also be going on tour in 2026, showcasing her iconic energy and commenting on performing in a changing cultural landscape.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the new music releases from these artists and the opportunity to see them back on stage after such long breaks. It’s a thrilling time for music lovers who have missed the unique sounds of these bands and are now able to enjoy their comeback albums.
