A beloved music group that rose to fame in the ’90s is gearing up to release its first album in 34 years. The iconic rock band 4 Non Blondes, famous for their chart-topping single “What’s Up? (What’s Going On),” is set to drop a new album in 2026, as announced by their record label Kill Rock Stars. Lead vocalist Linda Perry’s 670 Records has inked a deal to unveil two albums next year – Perry’s solo project, “Let It Die Here,” and a highly anticipated 4 Non Blondes record, the title of which remains a mystery.

This exciting news comes after a remarkable reunion earlier this year, marking the group’s first joint venture in over a decade. 4 Non Blondes initially disbanded in 1994, having released just one full-length album during their active years – “Bigger, Better, Faster, More!” in 1992. Perry, the driving force behind the band, pursued a successful career as a songwriter and solo artist post their split.

Linda Perry explained that the reunion sparked a surge of creativity, leading to the birth of new tracks and the reimagining of old favorites, culminating in a collection of fresh music. In a candid statement, Perry expressed her excitement at the prospect of stepping back into the limelight and showcasing her artistry as a musician. The creative process was an avenue for Perry to explore endless possibilities and rediscover her passion. She emphasized the exceptional skills of her bandmates, lauding them as phenomenal musicians who are perfectly poised to bring these songs to life.

The original lineup of 4 Non Blondes consisted of an all-female ensemble, with Perry on vocals, Christa Hillhouse on bass, Shaunna Hall on guitar, and Wanda Day on drums. Following their breakout success with the platinum-selling album “Bigger, Better, Faster, More!” in 1992, the band underwent some lineup changes, incorporating drummer Dawn Richardson and guitarist Roger Rocha into the mix. “What’s Up,” the band’s anthem characterized by its catchy chorus and poignant lyrics, climbed to No. 14 on the charts in 1993 and has remained a timeless classic ever since. The track has seen various interpretations over the years, including a dance remix by DJ Miko and a country rendition by Lainey Wilson.

Linda Perry, a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, has not only made a name for herself as a performer but has also penned chart-topping hits for industry giants like Christina Aguilera, Pink, and Gwen Stefani. Married to “The Conners” star Sara Gilbert in the past, Perry’s illustrious career was further solidified with her induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2015.

Although an official release date is still pending, fans of 4 Non Blondes and Linda Perry can eagerly anticipate the unveiling of their long-awaited albums in the coming year. This latest development marks a significant milestone for the band and Perry’s solo career, promising a musical journey that is sure to captivate audiences worldwide.
