The Wellmont Theater is delighted to welcome Lettuce to their stage on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 8:00 pm. Lettuce’s newest album, Cook, doesn’t just showcase their musical prowess; it beckons listeners to partake in a feast where funk, soul, jazz, rock, and hip-hop converge to create a harmonious blend of flavors. Released in December 2025 under their Lettuce Records label, the band’s latest studio album presents a smorgasbord of delights that reflects a band venturing into uncharted musical territory. For the six longtime comrades, the new tracks are like a sumptuous meal that tantalizes all senses.

Similar to their previous albums Elevate (2019), Resonate (2020), and Unify (2022), Cook was crafted at Colorado Sound, just outside Denver, where band members Deitch, Smirnoff, and Bloom have made their home. The recording process saw them convene in one room to collaborate on the new material. The final results were masterfully mixed by Ryan Zoidis and Grammy-nominated engineer Jesse O’Brien.

Lettuce has once again broadened its musical horizons on Cook. Following tours with rap icon GZA of Wu-Tang Clan and reggae legend Ziggy Marley, the band’s recent release, Lettuce with the Colorado Symphony, captures their collaboration with the Colorado Symphony in symphonic arrangements across a live album and concert film. Deitch explained, “This record is a little more three-dimensional than our past albums. It shows a lot more sides to the band, exploring further depths of production and arrangements.”

Elements of the Wu-Tang Clan vibe are evident in “Storm’s Coming,” a track that could easily be mistaken for a lost gem from 36 Chambers. The influence of working with an orchestra shines through in the grand, cinematic score of “Ghost of Yest,” described by Deitch as having “symphonic influences.” The band’s exposure to diverse, multi-genre bands worldwide, including the re-released Live in Tokyo, has shaped their musical evolution. Deitch shared, “Hearing music from different countries has broadened our creative outlook.”

Despite the band’s global influences, their signature funk sound remains strong, paying homage to James Brown and the JB’s on “Clav It Your Way” and featuring lively nods to mentors like Tower of Power on “Keep On.” Lettuce also tips their hat to JB sax player Maceo Parker in “The Mac.” As the band continues to experiment with sounds, their latest tracklist showcases a blend of urban vibes, reminiscent of ‘70s cop shows and New York City-based labels.

With the recent launch of Lettuce Red Crush and Orange Crush wine brands, the band is bringing music and food together. “Music and food are very related,” remarked Deitch. The release of their recipe book of pairings along with the album demonstrates their commitment to creating a full sensory experience for fans.

Cook presents itself as a recipe for success, both musically and logistically. Deitch expressed excitement over the band’s current management team, saying, “This is the best team we’ve ever had.” Lettuce is poised for a new era of creativity and innovation as they prepare to embark on a world tour.

Tickets for Lettuce’s performance start at $48 and can be purchased online. The Wellmont Theater, located at 5 Seymour Street in Montclair, New Jersey, is the place to witness Lettuce serve up a musical feast like never before.
