Fans of rock music are in for a treat as the dynamic duo from Akron, Dan Auerbach, and Patrick Carney, known as The Black Keys, have unveiled their latest single. This new track serves as a precursor to their upcoming album titled “Peaches!,” which is set to hit the airwaves in May.

The album, recorded in 2025, holds significant emotional weight as it was created during a challenging time for Auerbach. Dealing with his father Chuck Auerbach’s deteriorating health, who sadly passed away last March due to complications from esophageal cancer, added a layer of rawness and authenticity to the music-making process. Auerbach shared, “We weren’t making a record. We were just jamming, like this is for us. Really primal, in a moment when all the nerves were raw, just kinda screaming. We were going through a lot, trying to lift our spirits.”

The latest single from The Black Keys, “You Got to Lose,” is a cover of a classic Earl Hooker song with a country blues flair. Featuring slide guitarist Kenny Brown, renowned for his skills in the North Mississippi Hills blues style, the song offers a fresh take on the original, injecting The Black Keys’ signature style and energy into the mix.

“Peaches!” marks the band’s third album in just 25 months, showcasing their remarkable output and dedication to delivering new music to their fans. The previous album, “No Rain, No Flowers,” released in August of last year, featured the track “Man on a Mission” which garnered attention across various media platforms, including being used as an anthem for TNT’s coverage of the MLB playoffs.

While the significance of the album’s title remains a mystery, one can’t help but draw connections to the nostalgia of Peaches Records and Tapes, a prominent retailer in Northeast Ohio during the 1970s. Furthermore, the album’s cover art features an iconic image captured by renowned photographer William Eggleston, who also contributed his work to The Keys’ previous album, “Delta Kream.” Both the band and Eggleston call Memphis, Tennessee home, further intertwining their artistic paths.

Excitingly, The Black Keys have a series of tour dates lined up for 2026, including stops in various cities in the United States and overseas. From the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival to performances in Paris and the UK, fans will have the opportunity to experience the band’s electrifying energy and captivating stage presence live in concert.

In conclusion, The Black Keys continue to captivate audiences with their infectious music and unwavering commitment to their craft. With “Peaches!” on the horizon and a string of tour dates ahead, the duo shows no signs of slowing down, solidifying their place as one of the most dynamic and influential acts in modern rock music.
