The Rock the Country music festival organized by Kid Rock faced a setback as it was forced to cancel its upcoming event in Anderson, South Carolina. This two-day festival, originally scheduled for July 25 and July 26, was called off due to unforeseen circumstances, as confirmed by local officials. Anderson County Administrator Rusty Burns expressed disappointment over the cancellation, highlighting the festival’s past success in the region.

“Anderson County has been proud to host Rock the Country for the past two years. The event was a huge success drawing tens of thousands of visitors, making a multimillion-dollar economic impact on the Upstate,” Burns stated. He mentioned that the county had been looking forward to welcoming the festival back this year but unfortunately had to face the cancellation.

The festival lineup in Anderson was expected to feature prominent artists such as Kid Rock, Jason Aldean, Creed, Shinedown, Brantley Gilbert, Ludacris, Gretchen Wilson, Parmalee, Morgan Wade, Chase Matthew, Lakeview, Fox N’ Vead, and others. However, the cancellation came after Shinedown decided to pull out of the festival unexpectedly earlier in the week.

Shinedown released a statement explaining their decision to withdraw from the event, emphasizing that they did not believe the festival aligned with their values. The band expressed their mission to bring people together through music and emphasized their commitment to unity rather than division. The statement from Shinedown read, “Our band’s purpose is to unite, not divide. With that in mind, we have made the decision that we will not be playing the Rock the Country festival.”

Acknowledging that their decision might receive mixed reactions, Shinedown stood by their choice, stating, “We do not want to participate in something we believe will create further division.” This firm stance from Shinedown ultimately led to the cancellation of the Rock the Country festival in South Carolina.

The cancellation of the festival has left many disappointed, including local officials and fans who were anticipating the event. Despite this setback, Anderson County is already making plans for additional major events in the future and looks forward to exciting announcements to come. The absence of the Rock the Country festival this year will undoubtedly be felt in the region, but plans are underway to bring more entertainment and excitement to the area in the future.
