Corrosion of Conformity announce upcoming album “Good God / Bad Man”
Corrosion of Conformity, set to perform at the upcoming Azkena Rock Festival, has revealed details of their upcoming album “Good God / Baad Man” slated to be released on April 3rd. The band’s first album in seven years, following the passing of drummer Reed Mullin in 2020, features Stanton Moore on drums (known for his work on In the Arms of God in 2005) and Bobby Landgraf on bass replacing Mike Dean. Pepper Keenan and Woody Weathermen, joined by producer Warren Riker, collaborated with Al Jourgensen of Ministry and Madonna guitarist Monte Pittman on this record.
Founded in the early 80s, Corrosion of Conformity’s roots can be traced back to hardcore punk. Over the years, they evolved towards a more metal sound with blues influences. Few bands can claim the influence and impact that Corrosion Of Conformity has had on the music scene. Originating from Raleigh, North Carolina, COC made waves with their seminal album Eye For An Eye in 1984, establishing themselves as a formidable force in the burgeoning punk/thrash metal scene on the East Coast.
As the 80s came to a close, COC transitioned from punk/thrash metal to a refined sound amalgamating groove metal with a touch of Southern rock. With a sound like no other, the band masterfully blended various genres to create their unique trademark sound.
The new album from Corrosion of Conformity promises a refreshing take on their musical style, with “Good God / Baad Man” marking their return after a lengthy hiatus. The lineup changes in the band have not hindered their creativity, but rather sparked a new wave of energy and dynamism in their music. The inclusion of new members has added fresh perspectives and ideas to the group, resulting in an album that stays true to their roots while pushing boundaries musically.
With a blend of seasoned veterans and fresh talent on board, Corrosion of Conformity’s upcoming album is highly anticipated among fans and critics alike. The collaboration with notable figures like Al Jourgensen and Monte Pittman further adds to the intrigue surrounding this release. The album is set to be a testament to the band’s resilience, creativity, and enduring legacy in the rock music landscape. Corrosion of Conformity continues to demonstrate why they are considered one of the most influential bands in the rock and metal scene, leaving an indelible mark on listeners worldwide.
