Sherman Funmaker’s unexpected journey from a high school dropout to a well-respected writer is a remarkable tale of pursuing dreams, overcoming obstacles, and embracing one’s heritage. Recently, Funmaker unveiled his debut book, “Bear Tracks: Memories of a Ho-Chunk Elder,” published by the Wisconsin Historical Society Press.
