Keanu Reeves’ band Dogstar announces release of new album “All In Now”
Keanu Reeves’ band Dogstar has announced the release of their upcoming album, “All In Now,” marking a significant return to the music scene. The Los Angeles trio, consisting of Keanu Reeves, Bret Domrose, and Robert Mailhouse, will be releasing the album on May 29 through their own label, Dillon Street Records.
After a twenty-year hiatus, Dogstar made a comeback in 2023 with their album “Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees.” Reeves expressed his excitement about getting back into the studio and creating new music, emphasizing their hard work and dedication to the project.
The new album, produced by Nick Launay, captures the essence and camaraderie that has defined Dogstar’s music since their formation in the 1990s. Drummer Robert Mailhouse highlighted the energy and fun that the band continues to embody, reflecting on their collaborative spirit.
The band released the title track, “All In Now,” along with a music video directed by Carlos Garcia Medina. The song, according to Mailhouse, encapsulates the band’s current state and their commitment to moving forward together. Reeves echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the sense of unity conveyed through the song.
To support the album, Dogstar will embark on a 25-date North American tour this summer, followed by shows in the UK and Europe. Irish fans can catch them live at Dublin’s 3Olympia Theatre on June 11 as part of their European leg, with additional festival appearances and headline gigs planned throughout the tour.
Having formed in 1991 and releasing two albums before going on hiatus in 2002, Dogstar surprised fans with their reunion in 2023. Despite the long break, the band’s chemistry remains strong, with their recent touring experiences shaping the sound of their upcoming record.
Mailhouse and Reeves both spoke about the positive reception they received from audiences during their comeback shows, particularly in Europe. The band’s connection with fans and the joy they brought to their performances fueled their creative energy and inspired their musical direction.
“All In Now” will feature 12 tracks, showcasing Dogstar’s evolution and creativity as they continue to build momentum following their return. The album promises a mix of energetic and heartfelt songs, reflecting the band’s growth and musical journey over the years.
