Final Fantasy 14 patch 7.5 is the final major installment leading up to the upcoming expansion of the MMORPG. The latest update, entitled ‘Trail to the Heavens,’ is scheduled for release on Tuesday, April 28, immediately following the North American Fanfest. During Live Letter 91, game director Naoki ‘Yoshi-P’ Yoshida and community producer Toshio Murouchi provided an overview of the new content coming with patch 7.5.

Yoshida teased that patch 7.5 would be substantial, promising a wealth of content for players to enjoy. However, he hinted that there were elements he could not reveal until after the upcoming NA Fanfest in April, where the much-anticipated Final Fantasy 14 8.0 expansion is expected to be unveiled. One exciting announcement during the Live Letter was the introduction of the Beastmaster job, along with significant improvements to housing restrictions and dye mechanics.

The main scenario quest (MSQ) for patch 7.5 will be divided into two parts, with the second half likely setting the stage for the forthcoming 8.0 expansion. The new dungeon, The Clyteum, will take players back to Garlemald, hinting at events that may be related to the upcoming expansion storyline. Additionally, a new Trial featuring Enuo, a formidable boss from the remastered Final Fantasy 5 Advance game, will challenge players with its difficulty.

Fans can also look forward to the third part of the FF11 Alliance Raid, Windurst: The Third Walk, featuring the popular character Shantotto. The latest Ultimate Trial is set to be revealed at the Fanfest event, adding to the excitement surrounding the new content. Other additions in patch 7.5 include new zones, additional Phantom Jobs, and customizable features, providing a wealth of content for players to engage with.

With the introduction of the Beastmaster limited job, players can capture and tame creatures to fight alongside them in battle. The Beastmaster class is a melee DPS specializing in the use of a one-handed axe and shield. To unlock the Beastmaster job, players must have completed the A Realm Reborn storyline, achieved level 50 on another class, and own the expansion pack. Players can capture up to 50 unique creatures and summon them to aid them in combat.

In response to player feedback, patch 7.5 introduces the Duty Support feature to two additional dungeons, addressing concerns about reduced difficulty levels. The introduction of new gear in Occult Crescent’s North Horn zone offers players the opportunity to upgrade their equipment and enhance their characters’ strengths. Additionally, the Forked Tower: Magic 48-player encounter will provide both normal and extreme modes, catering to players of varying skill levels.

The Live Letter previewed a wealth of content coming to Final Fantasy 14 in patch 7.5, setting the stage for the upcoming expansion. With new jobs, dungeons, raids, and improved gameplay mechanics, players can look forward to an exciting journey as they explore the new content and challenges awaiting them in the realm of Eorzea.
