Peter Frampton has unveiled a new track called “Lions at the Gate” from his forthcoming solo album, Carry The Light. This song, which features Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, serves as a protest anthem. Drawing inspiration from lion statues located outside the lavish mansions of Hollywood’s elite during the 1920s, the song symbolizes a daring challenge to the ultra-powerful.

Speaking about the track, Frampton expressed his admiration for its powerful message and credited Tom Morello’s guitar playing for elevating it to another level. Additionally, the vocals on “Lions at the Gate” include contributions from Frampton’s son, Julian Frampton. This latest release follows the unveiling of “Buried Treasure,” the album’s first single, which features Benmont Tench, the keyboardist of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

Scheduled for release on May 15, Carry the Light represents Peter Frampton’s first album of original songs in 16 years.
