Marcus King Band’s Latest Album “No Room For Blue” Now Available
The Marcus King Band has unveiled their latest album, “Darling Blue / No Room For Blue,” on May 1st, building upon the foundation laid by “Darling Blue” that was released last autumn. The recent release features a dozen new tracks that were recorded at Capricorn Studios. Initially, this companion compilation was exclusively offered during Record Store Day on November 28, but it is now accessible on all streaming services.
In contrast to “Darling Blue,” which chronicled the emotional journey of Marcus King pre and post meeting his wife, Briley, as well as delving into his affection for the Blue Ridge Mountains and battles with addiction and heartache, “No Room For Blue” continues the narrative from an evolved perspective. The fresh content seamlessly blends elements of heavy rock, bluegrass, country, blues, and Americana. King himself has noted that this musical offering signifies a transition towards clarity and a rejuvenated sense of direction.
The album includes three reimagined tracks: an updated rendition of the fan-favorite “Delilah,” a collaboration with Billy Strings on a Macon iteration of “Dirt,” and a tribute to The Allman Brothers with a cover of their classic “Ramblin’ Man,” a song that has been a staple in King’s live repertoire for quite some time.
The band is presently engaged in the Waltz Across Texas Tour, a seven-city sojourn through the state this month. Subsequently, they are set to embark on the Darling Blue Pt. 2 Tour, spanning 39 cities and covering major markets in the US. The tour schedule is highlighted by a performance in their hometown at Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium on May 27. Following this, they have lined up appearances at various summer festivals, including Gulf Coast Jam, Summerfest, and Bourbon & Beyond.
