Prince’s unheard songs compiled in album ‘Timeless’
Prince Celebration Week is currently underway in Minneapolis, and the Prince Estate has announced the release of a new posthumous Prince album titled Timeless. This album features 10 rare and previously unreleased recordings from Prince’s extensive Vault, spanning from 1977 to his passing in 2016.
Accompanying this announcement is the debut of a new single called “Stone,” a previously unreleased recording from spring 1995 co-written by Sandra St. Victor, Tom Hammer, and Jules Van Even. In addition to being available on streaming platforms, Timeless will come in various physical formats including a D2C-exclusive limited-edition Purple Marble Vinyl, standard black vinyl, and CD.
The Prince Celebration, which began yesterday (June 3) and runs through Sunday (June 7) in honor of the late icon’s birthday, is taking place at Paisley Park and throughout downtown Minneapolis. The event features exclusive listening sessions, archival presentations, and discussions with Prince’s fellow collaborators.
The tracklist for Timeless includes a variety of tracks spanning different eras of Prince’s career, showcasing his diverse musical journey over the years. From “I Am You – 1977” to “How Come You Don’t Call Me Anymore? (Live) – 2016,” the album offers fans a unique glimpse into the artist’s creative process and evolution.
