Denver-based cosmic death metal band Blood Incantation has released their new “All Gates Open (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)” today via Century Media. Originally included in their deluxe Absolute Elsewhere Artbook, this soundtrack is now available as a standalone release, featuring the full soundtrack and a 73-minute accompanying documentary. The release is out in multiple formats including Blu-ray, vinyl variants, and digital album.

The four tracks on “All Gates Open (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)” were composed in 2021, showing a different side to Blood Incantation’s sonic identity. These tracks, created from synth improvisations, acoustic instrumentation, and studio sessions, offer a pastoral, ambient, and introspective vibe. Guitarist/vocalist Paul Riedl describes them as the “yang energy” compared to their shadowed atmospheres in Timewave Zero.

Receiving glowing reviews, the soundtrack has been called “nothing short of spectacular,” “an essential listen,” and “the ultimate trip.” The Quietus even named it their Album of the Week, praising Blood Incantation’s evocative and exploratory nature. The band’s new video for “Dawn,” directed by Miles Skarin of Crystal Spotlight, showcases a faraway desert planet with remnants of a lost civilization and floating rocks, creating a mesmerizing visual experience.

The documentary included in the soundtrack offers an insider’s look into the band’s creative process at Berlin’s Hansa Tonstudios. Directed by Niklas Tschaikowsky and Tammo Dehn, it delves into the making of Absolute Elsewhere, featuring appearances by members of Tangerine Dream, Hällas, and Sijjin.

Paul Riedl explains that the soundtrack is not a follow-up to Absolute Elsewhere but a companion piece that captures the origins of the album. He emphasizes the importance of experiencing the documentary to truly understand the creative journey that led to their most ambitious work to date. Mixed and mastered by Arthur Rizk, and featuring artwork by Jodie Day, “All Gates Open (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)” marks a significant chapter in Blood Incantation’s artistic evolution.

The release is available in various formats, including digital album, limited CD + Blu-ray edition, and multiple vinyl variants, each offering a unique visual and auditory experience. Blood Incantation’s lineup includes Paul Riedl, Isaac Faulk, Morris Kolontyrsky, and Jeff Barrett, who are set to tour Europe and the UK throughout the summer, showcasing their groundbreaking sound and immersive visuals to fans around the world.
