The upcoming heatwave in Bilbao has resulted in the unfortunate cancellation of the highly anticipated ‘Here Comes The Summer Fest’ rock festival. This event was scheduled to take place on Sunday at Bilbao’s Crazy Horse venue, but due to forecasts predicting temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, the festival had to be called off.

The lineup for the festival was set to feature popular American group Je´Texas, along with local bands Los Retros and Bluebird, as well as the US combo led by singer and guitarist Dylan Bishop. Fans were eagerly anticipating these performances, but the extreme weather conditions made it unsafe to proceed with the event.

Undercover Producciones, the company responsible for organizing the festival, released a statement confirming the unfortunate news. They cited concerns for the health and well-being of attendees as well as the responsibility they felt to make the right decision in light of the extreme heatwave. Holding a concert in an enclosed venue for an extended period of over three hours in such high temperatures was deemed too risky, prompting the decision to cancel the performances.

The cancellation of ‘Here Comes The Summer Fest’ serves as a reminder of the challenges faced when organizing outdoor events, particularly during times of extreme weather conditions. While it is disappointing for both fans and event organizers to have to call off such an anticipated festival, prioritizing the safety and health of attendees must always be the top concern.

As the city of Bilbao prepares to face the intense heatwave forecasted for the upcoming days, it is essential for everyone to take necessary precautions to stay safe and healthy. Events like music festivals can be enjoyable experiences, but it is crucial to heed warnings and recommendations from authorities when extreme weather conditions pose a threat.

While this year’s ‘Here Comes The Summer Fest’ may not be able to proceed as planned, fans can look forward to future events and festivals once the weather conditions improve. The decision to cancel the festival was made with the best interests of everyone involved in mind, and though disappointing, it is ultimately a responsible choice in the face of challenging circumstances.
