Blackpool’s beloved alternative rock band, Boston Manor, is commemorating a decade since the release of their career-launching record with the launch of an acoustic version of “Drowned In Gold,” a track from the upcoming “Be Nothing. 10 Year Anniversary Edition” set to come out on August 14th via Pure Noise Records. This stripped-back rendition provides a fresh outlook on one of the band’s fundamental songs, emphasizing the emotional depth of the songwriting that helped establish Boston Manor as one of the UK’s most captivating contemporary rock acts. The acoustic version of “Drowned In Gold” joins previously released acoustic renditions of fan favorites “Laika” and “Lead Feet,” all of which will be included in the expanded anniversary edition of the band’s groundbreaking 2016 debut album.

Produced by Neil Kennedy, “Be Nothing.” swiftly became a defining release for a new era of British alternative music. Merging melodic punk, emo, and post-hardcore with an ambition that later evolved into the band’s expansive, genre-blending sound, the album introduced Boston Manor to audiences worldwide through standout tracks like “Laika,” “Lead Feet,” and “Fossa.” Reflecting on the importance of “Drowned In Gold,” guitarist Mike Cunniff describes the song as a pivotal moment in the band’s creative trajectory, serving as a bridge from their previous album to their subsequent experimentations with music.

Progression has been a cornerstone of Boston Manor’s journey. Rather than being tethered to their pop-punk origins, the band consistently reinvented themselves across subsequent releases, infusing industrial textures, atmospheric electronics, and alternative rock influences while staying true to the emotional sincerity that initially resonated with listeners. Bassist Dan Cunniff expresses that revisiting “Be Nothing.” is a mix of nostalgia and assurance, recalling the thrill of crafting a full-length record after years of being in bands and hoping that the album would still connect with audiences a decade later.

The anniversary edition of “Be Nothing.” will be available in various formats, including CD, digital, and exclusive vinyl variants, allowing long-time fans to revisit the album that set the stage for their future endeavors. To mark this milestone, Boston Manor will embark on a special headline tour later this year, performing “Be Nothing.” in its entirety for the first time. The tour will span North America before culminating with intimate UK dates, many of which have already sold out, reaffirming the enduring adoration fans have for the album.

A decade after its release, “Be Nothing.” transcends being just Boston Manor’s debut; it marks the inception of a voyage that has seen the band consistently push the boundaries of modern alternative music while maintaining the emotional songwriting that initially garnered them attention. The upcoming UK tour dates are as follows: December 7th, 8th, and 9th at Gorilla in Manchester, and December 13th, 14th, and 15th at The Garage in London.
