“Premiere of ‘Moana’ Dominates Hollywood Bowl”
Disney unveiled its latest live-action adaptation, “Moana,” in an extravagant premiere at the iconic Hollywood Bowl, attended by a whopping 4,000 enthusiastic fans. The event was a star-studded affair, filled with various brands collaborating with Disney to bring the magic of Moana to life in more ways than one.
As attendees took their seats at the venue, Coppertone handed out sunscreen, LEGO showcased a life-size Moana creation, and EZPZ treated guests to Dole Whip pineapple soft serve. Every visitor was also offered a limited edition shave ice-flavored energy drink from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s brand, Zoa. Throughout the venue, companies like Subway, Joyburst, Papatui, and Hawaiian Airlines set up activations, providing unique experiences for everyone in attendance.
Among the high-profile guests present at the screening were celebrities like Stassi Schroeder and her family, Scott Hoying, Piper Curda, Jenna Dewan, and Disney Legend Ming Na Wen, capturing memorable moments watching the film under the stars. Director/executive producer Thomas Kail and songwriter/producer Lin-Manuel Miranda addressed the crowd, expressing their excitement about the premiere while lauding the Hollywood Bowl as a magical venue for such a special event.
The premiere kicked off with a stunning performance by Johnson and Catherine Laga’aia, accompanied by the Nonosina Dancers, showcasing a traditional Pacific ceremony, embodying the heart and soul of the vibrant Polynesian culture depicted in the film. As conductor Sarah Hicks led the LA Philharmonic in a live orchestral performance of the film’s score, the atmosphere was further elevated, culminating in a breathtaking fireworks display during the credits, set to a new song, “Along the Way,” sung by the film’s stars.
