Jillith Fair presents Loving Jill Sobule at The Fallser Club
Celebrate the life and music of Jill Sobule at the upcoming Jillith Fair event, presented by WXPN at The Fallser Club on January 24, 2026. Hosted by Jim Boggia and Marykate O’Neil, this night is dedicated to honoring the contributions of Jill Sobule, featuring performances by a lineup of talented artists. Tracy Bonham, Jonathan Coulton, Dave Derby & Rafa Maciejak (The Negatives), Jacob Lawson, James Mastro, Tara Murtha, Tammy Faye Starlight, David Weisberg, and Richard Barone are all scheduled to take the stage.
Jill Sobule, a Denver-born songwriter, guitarist, and singer, has explored a myriad of engaging topics through her music over the past three decades. From the death penalty to LGBTQ issues, her songs are a blend of humor, tragedy, and social consciousness. Her track “I Kissed A Girl” made history as the first openly gay-themed song to enter the Billboard Top 20. “Supermodel,” another one of her hits, was prominently featured in the movie Clueless. Collaborating with actor Julia Sweeney in The Jill & Julia Show, Jill Sobule has left a lasting impact on the music industry through her pioneering work in crowdfunding and innovative approaches to the ever-evolving world of music.
Fans can look forward to the release of Jill’s upcoming record, F*ck 7th Grade – Original Cast Recording, on her Pinko Records label this June. Additionally, Rhino Records will make her self-titled Atlantic Records album available on red vinyl for the first time in celebration of the album’s 30th anniversary this Pride Month. Unfortunately, following her unexpected passing on May 1st, planned shows were transformed into the Jillith Fair events, with proceeds going to the newly established It Was A Good Life Foundation supporting causes dear to Jill Sobule’s heart.
The It Was A Good Life Foundation aims to distribute funds to organizations like the ACLU that Jill was passionate about supporting. Furthermore, the Jill Sobule Legacy Fund will work towards preserving and sharing her musical legacy by releasing unfinished projects and demos she left behind. Her family and friends are dedicated to ensuring that Jill’s spirit and music continue to inspire audiences for years to come.
Jim Boggia, a seasoned musician known for his retro-pop manifesto, and Marykate O’Neil, a multi-talented artist with diverse accomplishments in music and painting, are set to host Jillith Fair. Tracy Bonham, a GRAMMY™-nominated singer-songwriter, will also be gracing the event with her musical prowess. Bonham’s debut album, The Burdens of Being Upright, propelled her to stardom with hits like “Mother Mother,” solidifying her place as a unique and impactful voice in the music scene.
