Nick Reiner caught on video moments before arrest in Reiner murders
Newly uncovered footage has shed light on the moments leading up to Nick Reiner’s arrest for the alleged murder of his parents. The video, captured at a gas station near the University of Southern California, shows Reiner clad in a black hat and dark clothing, carrying a red backpack as he enters and exits the establishment. Moments before his apprehension, Reiner is seen purchasing Gatorade with a credit card in the surveillance footage, timestamped around 9 p.m. on a Sunday evening.
The victims of the tragic incident were identified as 78-year-old Rob Reiner and 68-year-old Michele Singer Reiner, who were discovered lifeless at their Brentwood residence by their daughter, Romy. Upon the arrival of law enforcement, Nick was conspicuously absent from the scene, prompting investigators to believe that he had absconded following the fatal attacks. Subsequently, Reiner was apprehended in LA’s Exposition Park region on the same evening, approximately 14 miles away from the crime scene. Images of the event were later disseminated by LAPD’s Gang and Narcotics Division.
Reports have surfaced indicating that Nick engaged in a confrontation with his father at an event hosted by Conan O’Brien on the eve of the incident. Witnesses recall observing unusual behavior from Reiner that night, prompting speculation surrounding his mental state. Allegedly, Nick sought refuge in a Santa Monica hotel around 4 a.m., as staff members reportedly discovered bloodstains in his accommodations.
In the wake of these unsettling events, Nick Reiner is slated to appear in court on Wednesday, charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with his parents’ untimely demise.
