assLive contributor focusing on local and national trending news. [email protected] renowned rock musician from the 1970s is making a comeback with a new album set to be released in 2026. Lou Gramm, the former lead singer of Foreigner and co-founder, is excited to announce his latest solo project titled “Released,” which will hit the shelves in March of the upcoming year. This album marks Gramm’s first complete album of original content since the release of The Lou Gramm Band’s all-Christian rock album in 2009 and the subsequent “My Baby” album in 2015. Reports from Blabbermouth suggest that some of the songs on the new album were initially written for Gramm’s solo records in the 1980s or for his side project, Shadow King, back in 1991 but were never finalized.
In an interview with Kyle Meredith, Gramm revealed that he has been diligently working on this album for over two years. He mentioned that he revisited his collection of unfinished songs that he believed were great but did not make it onto his previous records. Gramm expressed his excitement about the amalgamation of new and older songs that he has polished up for this upcoming album. Fans eagerly anticipating the release of his new music can expect to hear the first single as early as February, and Gramm promised that the songs were powerful rock anthems.
Despite the album releasing in March, Gramm has been actively touring with both Foreigner and his solo band throughout the year and will continue to do so in 2026. His last scheduled performance of the year on Ticketmaster is listed for May 28 in Stamford, Connecticut. Lou Gramm is widely recognized for his time with Foreigner from 1976 to 1990 and later from 1992 to 2003, during which the band produced hits like “Feels Like the First Time” and “Cold as Ice.” The rock icon received inductions into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2024 and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2013 alongside his Foreigner bandmate, Mick Jones.
In an interview with Ultimate Classic Rock, Gramm shared his plans for retirement in the coming year after a storied career spanning over five decades, beginning with his initial group, Black Sheep. He expressed a desire to focus on other aspects of his life outside of music, noting his wish to spend more time with his children of varying ages and indulge in his passion for cars before it’s too late. Gramm’s decision to retire comes after years of dedicated service to the music industry and a legacy that will undoubtedly remain ingrained in the hearts of fans for years to come.
