Rock legend from Northeast releases new single from upcoming solo album
Lou Gramm, the renowned rock legend from the Northeast, has recently released the debut single from his upcoming solo album. Titled “Young Love,” the track is the first sneak peek into his highly anticipated album “Released,” set to be released on March 27. Collaborating with Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell and drummer Michael Lasaponara, Gramm described the song as a “soaring rock anthem” that reflects his earlier solo work and musical style.
Gramm took to Instagram to express his excitement about the release, stating, “I hope you like the pure rock sound of this song and can’t wait for you to hear more.” Fans can now enjoy “Young Love” on various streaming platforms as they eagerly await the full album.
The upcoming album, “Released,” will feature a total of 10 tracks, all of which are previously unreleased songs that Gramm had written and recorded in the 1980s. According to Consequence, the album promises to deliver a vintage sound that captures the essence of Gramm’s earlier solo music. In a statement, Gramm shared his sentiments about the album, calling it a “real nostalgia trip” that showcases powerful and heartfelt songs from his past.
Reflecting on the process of creating the album, Gramm mentioned, “When I pulled these songs out of the vault, I knew I had to finish them for my fans around the world, so they can experience what I did when I first heard them after all these years.” He emphasized the significance of finally releasing this collection of music, reminiscing about the collaboration with talented musicians and the completion of his catalog.
“Released” will mark Gramm’s first full-length album of original music since The Lou Gramm Band’s self-titled Christian rock album in 2009. Fans have the opportunity to pre-order or pre-save the album online, ensuring they are among the first to experience Gramm’s latest musical offerings.
Although an official tour in support of the album is yet to be announced, Gramm has already lined up several shows for the year, including a performance at The Place Theatre in Stamford, Connecticut on May 28. The rock legend recently revealed his plans to retire from touring after this year, making these upcoming shows a must-see for fans and music enthusiasts.
Gramm’s illustrious career spans his time as the lead vocalist of Foreigner from 1976 to 1990 and later from 1992 to 2003. His distinctive vocals are featured in many Foreigner classics such as “Feels Like the First Time,” “Cold as Ice,” “Hot Blooded,” “Double Vision,” and “Juke Box Hero.” Gramm’s contributions to the music industry were recognized with an induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2024, alongside his Foreigner bandmates.
