New vocalist officially welcomed to In Vain by Metal Insider
In Vain, a Norwegian progressive death/black metal band, has made an official announcement welcoming Kjetil Alver Lund (Våde, Arkentype) as their new vocalist, a role he has been performing live with the group since the fall of 2024. The band had previously consisted of two vocalists, Andreas Frigstad and Sindre Nedland. However, Frigstad left the group in 2024, and Nedland had to step away that same year for cancer treatment. Tragically, Nedland passed away in March 2025 after battling the illness, leaving a void in the band.
Lund, who had temporarily filled in for both roles, has now embraced the position permanently. Towards the end of 2025, In Vain honored Nedland by sharing his final works and last solo album titled Embers, serving as a poignant farewell gift.
