Rock band Tesla is gearing up to unveil a fresh covers album titled “Homage,” offering a sneak peek with their rendition of Queen’s 1977 hit “Spread Your Wings” from the album “News of the World.”

According to Tesla’s Brian Wheat, “Spread Your Wings” has always been a song he hoped to cover by Queen, believing it had the potential to be a major hit but was overshadowed by other tracks like “We Are the Champions” and “We Will Rock You” from the same album. Wheat also recognizes the songwriting contributions of Queen’s John Deacon, referring to him as the band’s unsung hero.

Scheduled for release on July 17, “Homage” will have Tesla interpreting tracks by various artists such as Bob Seger, Supertramp, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Creedence Clearwater Revival, James Brown, and Elvis Presley, alongside an original piece titled “Never Alone.”

Fans interested in the album can place preorders now to secure their copy. Following this release, Tesla will be hitting the road with Mötley Crüe for “The Return of the Carnival of Sins Tour,” starting in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, on July 17. For a detailed itinerary, visit Teslatheband.com.
