MAD SNEAKS pays tribute to alternative rock roots with bold new video for “Dirty Blood”
MAD SNEAKS recently unveiled their latest music video, “Dirty Blood,” which encapsulates the band’s dedication to the roots of alternative rock, offering a profound narrative surrounding themes of exclusion, pain, and liberation. Embracing the raw energy and authenticity of grunge and the alternative scene from the ’90s, “Dirty Blood” arrives at a moment where a new era seeks to revive the movement’s essence—displaying imperfections, fewer filters, and a quest for sincerity. The track delves into the experience of being the “black sheep” and how one learns to coexist with that identity, unapologetically straying from the pursuit of validation. Instead, it celebrates the journey toward self-acceptance and the empowerment found in embracing one’s true self.
Within the music video, these themes are vividly brought to life through richly symbolic visuals. featuring masked personas, fire, shadows, and enigmatic figures that symbolize inner turmoil, fears, and the fragmented layers of an individual navigating external pressures while finally settling into their authentic self.
Elevating the essence of “Dirty Blood,” MAD SNEAKS opted to provide a platform for genuine alternative talents to participate in the production. The video specifically features Marcelo Bboy and Veronika Prana, selected by the band to shine a light on artists and individuals who frequently experience exclusion due to societal prejudices, stereotypes, or simply for being different.
Comprised of Agno Dissan, Amaury Johns, and Phill Andreas, MAD SNEAKS has gained prominence as a rising force within Brazil’s music scene, intertwining with the ongoing revival of grunge culture and alternative rock. Recently, the band rolled out the album “Incognito,” an English rendition stemming from a project overseen by Jack Endino, a pivotal figure in Seattle’s music landscape. Diverging from the mainstream norm, this album is solely available digitally via Bandcamp, with limited physical CD copies in circulation.
Through “Dirty Blood,” MAD SNEAKS offers more than a mere music video—it serves as a visual and sonic proclamation for all individuals who have been labeled as different and opted to transmute that differentiation into fortitude.
